Course for Credit and Tutoring Policies

Fees 
  • Non-refundable registration fee for Course for Credit: $200
  • Summer registration fee for Course for Credit: $100
  • Tutoring:  $53.00/hour
  • Course for Credit Individual sessions:  $56.00/hour
  • Course for Credit Shared sessions (2 students):  $45.00/hour
  • Course for Credit Group sessions (3 or more students):  $40.00/hour
  • Van Transportation Fee:  $40/month

  • Payment Policies School Year

    Payment options: 1) Pay quarterly by check (3 months at a time) or 2) Pay monthly by check. Send payments to The Privett Academy at P.O. Box 42, Mercer Island, WA 98040. Holidays and vacation days will be factored into your invoice. We follow the Mercer Island School District calendar for holidays and closures. A non-refundable registration fee isrequired before a student can be scheduled. The Privett Academy will charge a return check fee of $50 on every check returned by a bank as unpaid.

    Late Fees 
    A late fee of $50 will be assessed if payment is not received by the invoice due date. This fee will be added to the following bill. If payment is late, on the first teaching or next regularly scheduled session, the Director will call the contact number given on the registration form to inform the family that tutoring/teaching services will be suspended immediately unless a check is delivered to the teacher the next day. After 90 days, your account will be turned over to a collection agency.

    Cancellation Policies

    Course for Credit
    We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. To cancel you must call the teacher directly by phone. If 24-hour advance notice is not given, you will still be charged for the session. Individual sessions are required to be made up, and you will be charged for each make up session. In the event of illness or emergency, you will not be charged for the missed session. Nevertheless, please inform us as soon as possible if your child will be absent. If your child participates in a shared/group course for credit session, he/she is responsible for getting the work missed. Missed shared/group course for credit sessions will not be made up or refunded.

    Tutoring
    We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. To cancel you must call the teacher directly by phone. If 24-hour advance notice is not given, you will still be charged for the session. A tutoring session cancelled for an illness or emergency will be eligible for a credit or refund. A tutoring session cancelled for any reason other than emergency or illness may be made up at a future time, but a refund/credit will not be offered. As always, a 24-hour notice is appreciated.

     

    Private School Policies

    Fees 
  • Private School Non-refundable Registration Fee: $500
  • Private School Tuitions: Tution is billed per month for the months of September through June, based on the number of courses your student is enrolled in

  • 3 classes:   $15,250 per year,   $1525 per month
  • 4 classes:   $20,000 per year,   $2000 per month
  • 5 classes:   $22,000 per year,   $2200 per month
  • 6 classes:   $24,000 per year,   $2400 per month
  • 7 classes:   $26,000 per year,   $2600 per month

  • Please note that there will be an extra $100 a month billed per class for private school students who request one-on-one classes.

    Withdrawal Policies 
    If you choose to withdraw from The Privett Academy, you are responsible for one month’s tuition in addition to the month that you withdraw. (For example, if you withdraw in October you will pay for the month of October and November.)


    Please do not send a sick student to The Privett Academy. We will send home students who are ill.
